Malt Color Analysis: Base
ASBC color (SRM) is determined spectrophotometrically by measuring wort color collected from the ASBC congress mash.
Malt color has a high impact on the final color of beer. The color of the malt is developed during kilning and is related to flavor.
SRM Color = (1.3546 x Lovibond) – 0.76
EBC Color = SRM x 1.97
