Magdalena Schlapfl was a brewmaster before she entered the hop-growing business in a small Bavarian village in 1919. Four generations later her descendent Adolf is embracing 21st century craft brewing by producing high-quality new aroma varieties with an eye toward the US market.   

“”We work sustainably,” Adolf says, “so that our family can grow hops in the next generation.” 

“And,” he adds, “ we love harvesting the green gold.”
