Origin: Germany. Bred from Hallertau Mittelfrüh and Spalt for disease resistance, Select was released in 1991 by the Hop Research Center of Hüll and quickly became very popular with German brewers.
Usage: Aroma. Almost as highly regarded as Mittelfrüh in its homeland, Select’s excellent sensory profile - in much the same vein as Spalt, Tettnang, and Saaz - elevates any traditional lager, cold-fermented ale, Weissbier, or Belgian style. Exquisite as a feature in Pils.
Aroma & Flavor Characteristics: Spicy, flowery, and hoppy with prominent undertones of ripe berry and citrus. Spice and wood character reminiscent of Spalt and Saaz. Powerful impressions but with great finesse.
Yield: 1900 kg/ha
